Accredited French Polishers
Health and Safety at work has become an important part of our company culture. We hold quarterly meetings for all employees and we encourage the use of Risk Assessments when carrying out our services.
With such an internal emphasis we decided to apply for Industry accreditations to gauge whether we were meeting expected standards. The applications were lengthy and detailed, and have taken 6 months to achieve. A lot has been learnt along the way and new procedures and practices have been introduced.
Overwhelmingly, now that we have achieved these standards, we feel that the overall attention and knowledge passed onto our employees has been elevated and improved even further.
We are proud of the following accreditations:
CHAS
Contractors are required to submit details of their Health and Safety Policy along with their price when tendering for new work.
To ensure high standards across all aspects of the industry a national group has been formed which certifies companies when they have passed the controls necessary and can prove legal compliance. We have been accredited this year.
CONSTRUCTIONLINE
This is a streamlined version of CHAS, in that it relates specifically to the Construction industry and has pre-approved of our arrangements should we want to tender for work in the Public Sector. All approved companies form a large database of services which large companies can call upon.
SAFE CONTRACTOR
SAFEcontractor is another Health & Safety accreditation scheme for contractors. It again simplifies the process of demonstrating to our clients that we have health & safety policies and procedures in place. Clients recognise the scheme and accept our SAFEcontractor certificate as confirmation of competency. Many large organisations now use SAFEcontractor as their primary means of selecting contractors. SAFEcontractor is effectively the clients approved contractor list.
INVESTORS IN PEOPLE
We value our employees and whilst they work extremely hard and conscientiously, we are striving to provide as many tools as possible to further their enjoyment and potential within their job. We are in the process of formalising our practises and would hope to move nearer to achieving this standard by the end of 2004.
