If there’s one place where the use of wood can really have an impact, it’s in a bar. We recently visited  London bar Callooh Callay which featured, among other items, a bar area with unusual wooden decking underneath the main counter; parquet flooring in some places and wide stained shabby-chic floorboards in others; highly-polished retro veneer tables for diners and antique-style carved wooden occasional tables for drinkers. Phew! Not only is that a whole lotta wood, it’s a whole lot of mis-matched styles and types of wood, too! read more
