Ah, Shaky – Wales’s answer to Elvis. Who could forget Shakin’ Stevens’ number one 1981 hit, Green Door? With its enigmatic lyrics, suggesting the door was keeping secrets and hiding behind it a smokin’ hot rock ‘n’ roll piano – why, it’s no wonder this slice of musical genius spent four weeks topping the UK charts. 
Why Use French Polishing?
Those of us who have traipsed up and down stairs with a duster and a half empty can of Mr. Sheen might wonder what all the fuss is about French polishing? After all, polishing our furniture might be a little dreary and not the way we imagine ourselves spending a wet Sunday afternoon, but it isn’t exactly a skilled occupation, is it? Nor is buffing a floor or door with beeswax or those tins of lavender polish that granny used to use. 
The road less travelled
Using natural wood flooring has become increasingly popular in the last twenty years, replacing the ubiquitous carpet as the flooring of choice for both homes and businesses. Hard wearing, gorgeous to look at, easy to clean and practical; apart from the noise, it is hard to see why carpet ever became so popular in the first place.
