Wooden Wonders We’d Like To Have French Polished: 11. Wooden Staircases From Gone With The Wind
If there’s one film that showcases colonial grandeur, it’s Gone With The Wind. Why, Miss Scarlett O’Hara (Vivien Leigh) spends so much of her time sweeping up and down some beautifully imposing staircases in those impossibly large dresses, it’s a wonder she has any time at all left for plotting and conniving. Some of the staircases she sweeps down are covered by carpet; others are exposed in all their wooden glory. Either way, we’d definitely be up for bringing out the beauty of the wood beneath Scarlett’s feet.
